Acquisition by CD&R
In July 2021, the signing of a definitive agreement to sell Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), a global leader in label solutions, to affiliates of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (“CD&R”) was announced.
In connection with the transaction, CD&R also announced a definitive agreement to acquire Fort Dearborn from Advent International, and that it intends to combine MCC and Fort Dearborn to create a global label solutions company serving consumer packaged goods companies worldwide. This combination closed November 2021. The joint company will be known as Multi-Color Corporation.
Kevin Kwilinski, former CEO of Fort Dearborn and now the President and CEO of the MCC, comments:
"This is an exciting day for our customers, suppliers, and employees alike. We believe our expanded product offerings and global reach will be a strong foundation to better serve the dynamic and evolving needs of our global customer base while providing employees with rewarding career growth opportunities."
