Celebratory Bottle for Ramadan

This year Coca-Cola Egypt is celebrating the holy month of Ramadan with a celebratory bottle. The package features a label that transforms into a bow at the pull of a little ribbon. Following the success of the famous Christmas bow label, Coca-Cola believed it to be the perfect fit for Ramadan Celebrations, where sharing good things with friends and family afar is the tradition.

Extraordinary labels have increasingly become a trend in the packaging industry. They provide customers with interesting features, fun and information about the brand. Coca-Cola’s gift botte is the perfect platform to encourage consumer interaction.

Labels are no longer just a place for basic branding and product information. Great packaging can lift customer satisfaction and improve a purchasing experience. Look at this brilliant advert that runs alongside the campaign. It really expresses the idea of the gift bottle and sharing during this important period.

Planned to perfection

Good planning and project management was key in this complex project. The label is constructed of three layers and requires a combination of several materials.

Collaboration from European label converters Eshuis and MCC as well as a machinery developer made sure the project ran smoothly. The wraparound film is printed by MCC and then transported to Eshuis where a foil pull strip is inserted and adhesives and varnish applied. The label rolls were then sent back to MCC for slitting and sent to the bottlers. A tricky technique was needed to make sure the label would not come off too early by just slightly touching the foil strip.
