The Yalumba x AGSA ‘Frida & Diego: Love & Revolution’ Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz is a celebration of the Australian-exclusive exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Frida & Diego: Love & Revolution. Featuring more than 150 works, including paintings, works on paper, photographs, video and period clothing, this significant exhibition from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection positions Kahlo and Rivera within the broader context of Mexican Modernism.
The Love & Revolution label is inspired by to the iconic works of two of the most influential and loved artists of the twentieth century – Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. A fusion of artists and ideas, the design is a nod to the works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The calla lily, a symbol of working-class people in post-revolutionary México was a common thread in Rivera’s work while the hummingbird, a Mexican symbol for falling in love, appeared in Kahlo’s paintings. This illustration is a blend of the two — Kahlo and Rivera, the lily and the hummingbird, Love and Revolution. Artwork was created exclusively for Yalumba by Denomination. Gold foil, emboss and high-build screen complete the design. We’re thrilled to have printed this beautiful label for such an iconic collaboration.
