One hundred per cent Rheingau with one hundred percent home-grown Riesling grapes. A unification of family tradition and high quality management.

Robert Weil’s fine wines, instantly recognisable by their characteristic sky-blue coloured labels, stand for superior Rieslings not only in Germany, but also worldwide.  A trademark symbolic of their outstanding and uncompromising quality.

In 1875, Robert Weil’s wife Emilie used her dowry, paid by the Vacano Lombard family, in order to bring in a just 0.5 hectare site bearing the name “Lay”. Appropriately, the resulting wine was christened MONTE (mount) VACANO. In 2018 following a 100-year long break, harvesting of the site resumed. The resulting wine was to go down as a milestone in the history of dry Rheingau Rieslings. Just 1,650 litres were vinified and bottled including 300 Magnums, a few of which were put to auction.  MONTE VACANO, highly commended in many rating reviews deserved ofcourse, the appropriate label.

The traditionally sky blue MONTE VACANO label was printed digitally on high-quality paper at the MCC site in Bingen. An entwining grapevine around the mountain lends the label its beautiful framework. Both the circle and the lettering were enhanced with gold hot foil. The circle spherical with elaborate microembossing, the lettering prismatic.

“Weingut Robert Weil has been working with “Gewa” and in succession, with “MCC Deutschland” for two generations. During this time we have come to put great trust in the company and value not only their professionalism, but also their innovative employees. One such example of this rewarding teamwork was the label production for MONTE VACANO, with much merit for this particular project earned by Mr. Uwe Refflinghaus for his advice, ideas and technical expertise in printing possibilities.”
