The Casino Food Co-op, Australia’s largest meat processing cooperative, supplies premium beef and veal products to local and global markets. Solution:
After evaluating the Ravenwood Packaging Linerless Wraps solution at the Anuga food trade show, The Co-op collaborated with MCC to implement this innovative approach. Two Nobac applicators were custom-built to address their specific needs, enabling seamless labelling for vacuum-skin packaging (VSP) and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) trays. We also developed bespoke dielines and supplied high-quality Linerless Wraps produced at their Brisbane plant.
Process Overview:
Previously, the Co-op relied on hand-applied self-adhesive wraps, which were time-consuming and limited in customisation. The Nobac applicators automated the labelling process, applying wraps with 360-degree premium presentation even on challenging-to-label VSP products. The Co-op’s on-site NATA-accredited testing facility verified extended shelf-life outcomes for their retail-ready products. Recipes for each SKU were programmed into the Ravenwood system to ensure consistent, reliable label application.
Result:
The implementation of Linerless Wraps significantly improved productivity, enabling The Co-op to:
- Reduce bottlenecks on the VSP line and increase production capacity.
- Repurpose labour for higher-value tasks.
- Maintain precise and consistent labelling to meet stringent specifications.
With two Nobac applicators operating in tandem, The Co-op can handle diverse tray sizes and formats, adapting quickly to changing market demands. This innovative solution has enhanced operational efficiency, improved flexibility, and elevated product presentation for The Co-op’s customers worldwide.
